The next New Moon will be exact on the 23rd of February at 10:32 AM (ET), and will take place at 4 degrees of Pisces.
Thanks so much for your patience while I took a break from these Tarotscopes during the last cycle. I hope you’ve all been well and that Mercury Retrograde hasn’t been too much of a doozy for you so far!
These Tarotscopes are taking a bit of a new direction, at least for this cycle. I’m trying to stay open to the ways this offering wants to shift and evolve, so stay tuned! For now, the first change you may notice is that the ‘scopes will be (a little) shorter; I was getting the nudge to simplify things. Secondly, your ‘scopes will now be written with Moon Signs in mind.
So, that means you’ll definitely want to read the card that comes up for your own Moon sign first. Then, if you’re so inclined you could move onto the cards for your Sun and Rising signs. I mean, feel free to read for your Mercury sign, too, or even your Black Moon Lilith if you care to. As always, my philosophy is to take what works and leave the rest.
Not sure what your Moon sign is? Find it here: https://www.astrocal.co.uk/moon-sign-calculator/ (you won’t need your birth time, though that would make it much more accurate.)
For those of you unfamiliar with Tarotscopes, they’re essentially the same thing as a horoscope, except with Tarot cards. It is important to note, however, that I am not taking any specific planetary transits or aspects into consideration, all of the information is based on the card I pull for each sign.
Happy reading and New Moon blessings!
Aries – eight of swords
You may be facing a challenge where you feel restricted or limited, and have perhaps started to feel there is no way forward. This can feel incredibly frustrating for an Aries Moon (or most Aries placements) because you’re naturally so driven and energetic; you enjoy making moves and this situation has you feeling immovable. What you may need now is a shift in perspective. Consider the figure in the card. Yes, they are blindfolded and have their arms bound. But, their legs are free and the swords surrounding them don’t completely close them in. They could walk out of this situation and find help, or work to loosen those ropes on their own. You may need to find the “legs” of your own challenge to see where movement is possible. No matter how dire this circumstance feels in the moment, remember that you have options. There is a way forward if you’re willing to find it.
Taurus – Six of wands
Whatever you’re currently working on achieving, will need all aspects of you. You’ll need to come at this goal with 100% of yourself. Not necessarily 100% of your energy, but 100% of who you are; of what makes you, YOU. Strengths, weaknesses, light, shadow, drive, laziness, compassion, selfishness, whatever, it all needs to come to the table. You’re on a path to accomplishing something that will bring you a deep sense of satisfaction. Perhaps even a level of recognition you’ve been hoping for, or feel is deserving of what you’ve put in. Just remember, the truest victories come when we honour our whole selves. If you come to the end of the road on your goal’s path and you’ve sacrificed or neglected parts of yourself to get there, it may never feel like a true win. By honouring each and every part of who you are, you can feel on top of your game every single day.
Gemini – ace of swords
If you’ve been searching for clarity on something, take this as your sign that it’s on its way. In fact, it may already be right in front of you, so be sure that you’re open to receiving it. Consider the ways in which you might be obscuring your awareness – whether consciously or not – and make the effort to clear those blockages. One way of doing this is to first get a better sense of clarity about yourself, and the way you interact with the world around you. How do you perceive yourself and others. Why? What does that mean for your worldview? Getting a better sense of your own perspective may help to bring you a greater sense of awareness in general. Alternatively, perhaps you’ve already experienced the “a-ha moment” often symbolized by this Ace. In that case, your task now is to ground those new ideas in some level of reality; don’t let it float away!
Cancer – The lovers
You know that thing you’ve been admiring about someone or something as of late? That thing that’s been lighting you up and getting you excited? You may not believe this at first, but that thing is an extension of you. The reason it’s filling you with so much joy, is because it’s reminding you of something you love about yourself. Something you admire about your own capabilities or characteristics that you may have simply forgotten exists. This person or situation you have your heart eyes on for, has come into your life to reawaken that side of you. To inspire you to bring that part to the forefront once again. The Lovers may signal the beginning of a new relationship, but the best path forward in your new bond is to remember all you have to offer; this other person or situation does not bring everything to your pairing. Remembering your gifts helps to strengthen existing relationships, too.
Leo – the empress
Normally I might be drawn to telling you about how The Empress is an invitation to receive. To be open to any and all gifts that come your way; to accept them with gratitude and an open heart. And while I still believe that’s a core energy of this card, I’m getting a strong call to tell you that, this time around, the gifts aren’t coming externally, but rather that it’s you who needs to be gifting yourself. These could be physical luxuries like naps, chocolate, wine, baths, or sex (with or without someone else.) Or, perhaps it’s the time and space to tap into your creative side. Maybe you’re an artist who never makes anything for themselves, and this Lunar cycle is your chance to change that. Have a chat with yourself about what your inner most values and desires are, and ensure they’re being met by the person who has the most control over that: YOU.
Virgo – the magician
Real Magic isn’t exactly the supernatural stuff we see in pop culture – though it does look cool. Magic is all about making changes to our lives and the world around us through intention and action. Anyone is capable of it; everyone has access to it. All you need to do is choose it and commit yourself to taking the necessary steps. When The Magician shows up, it’s a sign that you’ve probably already begun to do this work, whether you realize it or not. It’s an invitation to remember how much power you hold and how you’re more capable than ever to create the life you want. Take this New Moon as an opportunity to get your tools (elements) in alignment, by considering these questions: What practical action(s) are you taking to ground your dreams in reality? What is your emotional investment, and where do you find emotional support? How do you keep your mind clear and focused on your intention? Are you bringing the required energy to your practice?
Libra – four of pentacles
Take note of how this card makes you feel before reading any further.
Perhaps this is slightly reductive, and I do apologize, but I’m pretty sure Libras love a bit of balance. They like to see both sides of the coin, which is exactly what I’m going to present here. On the first side we have the Four of Pentacles showing up to say, “let it all go, open yourself up.” While the other side of said coin says, “boundaries are vital at this time.” It’s essential that you be honest with yourself as you examine both sides of this card’s offering, so you can determine which way forward is in your highest and best. If you’ve been feeling tense lately, almost like you’re carrying extra weight, the first side may be what’s calling. However, if you’ve been feeling thinly stretched, constantly hoping for some time alone, then side number 2 may be the stronger invitation. Go back to that initial feeling I asked you to take note of. Use that to help guide you toward the right path.
Scorpio – The sun
Scorpios are a secretive bunch – and I can say that because I have enough Scorpio placements to know. We prefer to keep our cards close to the chest, and that’s honestly fine, we have good boundaries. However, sometimes it’s important, even essential, to be open and vulnerable, and when The Sun comes around, we can take it as a sign that now is the time for doing exactly that. If there’s a part of yourself you’ve been hiding away, possibly out of fear for what others may think, you may want t seriously consider sharing that side of you at some point throughout this Lunar cycle. The Sun is here with the gift of new life. The chance to be reborn in a way that’s authentic to who you are now, not who you were 5 years ago, or even yesterday. You deserve to shine your light, and you never know who you might be helping along the way just by doing so.
Sagittarius – The world
We’re so quick to move from one goal to the next. So quick to ask “what now?” when the paint from our last project has barely finished drying. Rarely do we give ourselves space in between endeavours to look back and reflect on all that we’ve done to get to where we are. Though The World can symbolize something in your life coming to a close, it’s higher calling is to step into a space of gratitude; taking time to find closure on one cycle before entering the next. Some cycles will be evident, like moving to a new home, ending a relationship, or completing a large project. But others may not be as obvious in the moment. It may be something you only recognize in hindsight, which is why this call into gratitude is the priority. Use this New Moon as a time to reflect and give thanks for the journey you’ve been on, and all the lessons it’s gifted you along the way.
Capricorn – the star
Self care is what needs priority from you at this New Moon. Your mind, body, and spirit are all in need of rejuvenation; your elemental reserves need replenishment. This isn’t quite as simple as taking a bath or putting a crystal in your pocket. The kind of healing The Star invites us into is much deeper than that. It wants to help soothe our nervous systems; to bring our bodies back into a state of deep balance. Getting there will look different for everyone, so give yourself time to determine what’s going to be best for you at this time. But don’t skip it! As much as you might feel the need to avoid slowing down, look at the situation this way: the energy you put into this time of healing will likely come back twofold when you dive into your next project. You’ll be that much more energized and clear-headed, making your goals a lot easier and quicker to accomplish.
Aquarius – king of cups
You may find yourself in a situation that calls for a certain level of emotional maturity. You’ll need to keep your emotions steady and managed, probably for some level of greater good. The situation may be one where the outcome will affect more than just yourself, and it may be in your best interest to find, or rally for, a solution that benefits everyone involved – as much as is possible. It’s possible the people involved will look to you for help and guidance. Do your best to hold space for them and their concerns; simply listen if that’s all you’re able to do. If you’re not used to being in a leadership position when it comes to more emotional affairs, it may help to incorporate some time into your schedule for activities that replenish your own resources – whatever that looks like for you – while this situation is ongoing. The King of Cups finds great meaning in helping others, and perhaps this is something you will experience as well.
Pisces – nine of swords
What if that thing you’ve been stressing over isn’t actually worth it? What if that thing that’s been keeping you up at night and controlling your every thought, isn’t actually rooted in anything real? Facing fears is no easy task, but if you’re going to be afraid of something, wouldn’t you rather know the full truth of it? The Nine of Swords is your gentle nudge to face something that’s been worrying you. To empower yourself with the knowledge of what’s at the root of that fear, so you can be prepared and (hopefully) not as scared anymore. Sure, you could avoid the situation until it (maybe) goes away. But what if you took matters into your own hands and found out there was nothing to actually fear? What a relief that would be! It’s easy to get caught up in worst-case-scenario thought patterns, but you have the power to break those cycles. Even if you face this fear head-on and discover there is something to legitimately worry about, you still win; you’ll have more information than before, which can help you to continue working on alleviating that fear. If you’re at a point where you can’t handle this on your own, PLEASE reach our for help. You never have to do this alone.
As always, I hope you found some resonance in these messages.
I’d love to hear from you, whether it’s about your Tarotscope or how you’re celebrating this lunation, so please feel free to reach out.
I’ll be back in about two weeks time with your Tarotscopes for the Virgo Full Moon, but until then…
“Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it.
Don’t wait for it. Just let it happen.”
